On July 13,2008, after 4.5 years of building, RV-9 kit number 90697, now known as C-GWME, took flight for the first time in Peterborough Ontario. The flight was uneventful partially thanks to 2 hours of extensive taxi runs. Everything went as planned. Empty weight came in as 1092 pounds. Thanks for all the help from Van's tech crew, Affordable panels, Steinair, Lightspeed ignition and Classic Aero and of course my marvelous wife for helping with all those hard to reach areas and her beautiful small hands.
